Our practice uses QbTest, one of the widest FDA cleared medical device that provides objective data for diagnosing and treating ADHD for patients ages 6-60. Our practice uses QbTest to increase safety, improve the quality of care we can provide our patients, enhance our assessment visits for initial evaluation of ADHD symptoms and to help measure how our patients are responding to treatment that has been prescribed by their provider.
QbTest involves a 15 to 20 minute, nonverbal, continuous performance test that appears on the computer. QbTest is a computer assisted attention and impulse control task and simultaneous recording of activity using an infrared camera for very precise motion measurements. The results are then compared to an age and gender matched normative group, and are then incorporated into the clinical interview and rating scales to reach a more accurate diagnosis. If an ADHD diagnosis is established, QbTest is used to help monitor the patient’s response to treatment, and aids our clinic in achieving treatment optimization. If it is determined that you do have ADHD, follow up testing will be required once treatment is prescribed.

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a very common neurological disorder which affects 3-7% of all school aged children. It is a disorder where 30-50% of these children continue to have symptoms into adulthood.
Common ADHD symptoms for adolescents include:

What is QbTest?
QbTest is a FDA cleared computer based test that measures the core symptoms associated with ADHD including hyperactivity, impulsivity and inattention/distractibility. The test results are presented in a report that compares your results with a non-ADHD group of people of the same age and gender.
How should QbTest be used?
Assessing ADHD may be complicated and there is no single clinical tool that is able to give you all the answers. QbTest provides objective data that together with other information will help your clinician to identify, rule out and monitor ADHD. QbTest can also provide valuable information when customizing treatment intervention based on your individual performance.
How is QbTest performed?
The test is performed in front of a computer screen. The test equipment consists of an infrared camera, a head-band with a reflective marker attached to it and a responder button. During the test a number of symbols are shown (ages 12-60) or two symbols (6-12) on the computer screen. The task is to push the responder button each time a symbol with the same shape and color is repeated on the screen. The test takes 15-20 minutes, depending on age, to complete and is not dependent on your language, reading or mathematical skills.
